Cowboy Earl’s Field Trip Festival
Hosted by: Onslow County Parks and Recreation
For 15 years you laughed, sang, and yes, played your face with
Cowboy Earl at Mike’s Farm. Now you can be a part of the new
and expanded Cowboy Earl show. If you are tired of the same
old routine field trips, this will be new and exciting adventure.
Here are some of the things you will experience:
1) Be a part of this popular stage show. Do the Cupid Shuffle
with Cowboy Earl, the famous, face-playing routine and much more.
2) Cowboy Earl’s YouTube theater where you are the star and will appear on one of
the most popular internet TV channels in the nation. Even compete in talent contest
and win cash prizes.
3) Multi-instrumental show where Cowboy Earl, “Chicken Pickin” John, and other
special guests perform on a variety of instruments including guitar instruments like
the CanJoe. Kids also have the opportunity to perform on some of the instruments.
4) Multi-genre show where every style of music (rock, country, blues, bluegrass,
jazz, classical) is played and taught. Even some very esoteric musical styles like
zydeco will be covered. Plus, music from different countries and cultures.
5) Write your own song. Combining the imagination of kids with the magic of
music. This is a hands-on activity in which all of the kids will participate. They
will be taught the fundamentals of writing and producing; they will actually produce
a song on the spot. Each class will write a different song which will then be
professionally recorded and given to the class. These songs will also be included on
the next Cowboy Earl CD. This workshop has been voted the most popular activity for field trips in the nation.
Our Mission: To draw out and develop the natural creativity of our kids, to enrich their lives in ways that are not normally available, to educate and entertain in ways that make learning fun.
Cowboy Earl’s Field Trip Festival will be held at Onslow Pines Park on October 7, 14, 21, and 28. The first tour will begin at 9:00 am. The cost is .50 per person and teachers are free.
